Assam NEET Counselling 2026 – Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions set by DME Assam before applying.
- NEET UG Qualification: Must have qualified NEET UG 2026 with a valid scorecard from NTA.
- Domicile: Assam domicile is compulsory for participating in the 85% state quota. Only Assam residents with a valid domicile certificate are eligible.
- Age: Candidate must be at least 17 years old as on December 31, 2026.
- Academic Qualification: Must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with a minimum of 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC).
- OBC Reservation: Only OBC Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) candidates are eligible for OBC quota seats. OBC Creamy Layer candidates are treated as General category.

DME Assam conducts Assam NEET Counselling in multiple rounds to fill all available seats across government medical and dental colleges.
- Round 1: First seat allotment based on NEET rank, category, and college choices. Allotted candidates must report and confirm admission.
